Arras Hotel

Arras Hotel Architectural Panels
Their vision was to transform the former BB&T building in downtown Asheville to the boutique French-styled hotel, Arras. Part of this design included incorporating the Arras logo into decorative metal panels as large as 20 feet in height and width.

Meeting the Weight Requirements
We fabricated the metal architectural panels that adorn the front and sides of the building. Not only did the scale of the panels pose a challenge, but fabricating these in a way that achieved the visual impact while working within the weight requirements of each panel required a superior level of design and fabrication knowledge and skill.

Achieving the Desired Look of Depth and Color
To achieve the desired appearance of depth, we laser-cut panels of ½” thick aluminum that were then doubled on the perimeter only to achieve a 1” thick profile width without the weight of a 1” thick panel. The panels were then powder coated with two separate colors to achieve the two-tone look that you see in the final product.

6' Diameter Bronze Arras Logo
We also fabricated a 6’ diameter Arras logo out of laser-cut ¼” bronze which was inserted into the tile sidewalk in front of the hotel.
